How does a beginner start road racing?
I head to a track this summer to begin shooting in a circuit, but do not know what events I attend. The most common responses I see here is to join a car club and head to his days of track. I live in New York and only a few parks in the road race near me. I'm curious if you have days in a complete beginner can get to the track to drive and music? What would be another way to get the track time instead of going through a car club?
Look at the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) NASA (National Auto Sport Association), Skip Barber Racing, and Grassroots Motorsports magazine. Grassroots Motorsports is a fantastic magazine for runners-level road entry. Skip Barber is based at Lime Rock Raceway, not far from New York, and have careers and schools across America. NASA and the SCCA both have day complete high performance, where you can drive your own car on a race track with the instructors available for assistance.
